National Pasta Day
Italian Culture and Copia
It’s impossible to escape the joyous atmosphere at Copia, where any excuse to showcase Italian culture is celebrated. Everyone at Copia was enjoying the day as if it were a Holiday when Steve arrived, locking arms and singing “That’s Amore”. Chef Rocky spoke with an Italian accent as he explained to Steve how he learned all his recipes from his grandmother, A native Italian herself.
Chef Rocky prepared over 30 different pasta dishes for Steve. The highlights were ziti with alfredo sauce, chicken, broccoli, and tomato. Shrimp scampi over rice pilaf. Vegan bow tie pasta with zucchini, squash, tomato, and pepper. Everything looked delicious you couldn’t have asked for a better spread than what was on display. However, before one fork was spun over a single dish of linguini chocolate cake was served as an appetizer!
The atmosphere, the food selection, the ambiance, the general happiness expressed on the faces of everyone speaks volumes about the Copia experience. True Italian cuisine recipes have trickled down generations into the kitchen here at Copia. Gret Day St. Louis couldn’t have picked a better spot to visit on a day that may not be an official holiday but means a lot to those of us at Copia who love being Italian, love to celebrate our culture, and love to share that culture, especially with guests who come hungry and leave happy.
